How Nuclear Weapons Changed How We Think
So it is quite likely that the likes of ChatGTP have been trained on stuff that I have typed into the internet over twenty years. I'm sorry, be afraid, we are all doomed. I offer my deepest apologies.
And now they are doing it to the Palestinians. The irony..how shameful .
The turing test wasn't passed, it was invalidated.
😨 3 hours

how many people where "consumed" by ai or a company. how many lost there life's because of it. anyway. enjoy a stake, a good glass of wine, or maybe the adorable lamb in the döner i am about to eat. tis is not a critique. it just is. even if it does not make nature, humanity or existence, right. existence is evil, but not only. feel free to stay ~ ^^
The way "intelligent" systems are currently designed, only allows derivative work. The issue is, most human product is linearly reductive and we called that intelligence. Our economy is based off that misunderstanding and has assigned disproportionate value to it. AI has exposed this.
They talk about monopoly in this documentary, but the joke is one of the biggest monopolies in the world is black rock and Disney! Ironically the u.s government hasn't fought to break up those company's at all.🤔 Meanwhile, Disney's looking to own your heartbeat!! If this monopolistic attitude is allowed to continue.
Swtizerland has many strict laws
I did not like this.
You skipped Martin Luther and Johannes Kepler.
I will watch the 3 hours and tell you all if it was worth it.
We humans will live like rats of scrapes, vile the elite is on the topp
Huge respect for the many hours of research that has gone into this and the time it must have taken to structure all of it into a coherent timeline from the history, through now and the possible future trajectories. As far as I am concerned you are absolutely on point! I appreciate what it takes to keep up with the current rate of change on this front and once again huge respect for your work! Thank you
people will unironically come here to complain about cancel culture when organizations like canary mission exist. very unserious bunch of people
never read a comment section where people missed the point of the video this much. the video is clearly a critique the use of "wokeism" as a term in conservative spaces, not a critique of whatever these people think wokeism is in the comments like let's be serious
Wow, good work. I watched it all. So much good stuff here, especially about sketchy labor practices and misappropriation of training data.
Maybe if you didn't try to sound & mysterious by talking so slowly and deliberately you could have cut this down to about an hour & a half.
Any human being can kill , it's simply a question of finding the right button , once found you have found an officiant machine . Humans are the lowest form of life .
Germans are exactly opposite of all the stereotypes
Intelligence is not recognising patterns it's giving meaning to something even when there's no need for it. We know that we exist but AI don't, since consciousness is not a trivial thing and it instills instincts into us which makes us do what we do. AI is only mimicking us and does what we do at a faster rate but it still requires a source. If it takes itself as a source it will more likely devolve into nothing as it has no motivation or reason to exist at all. Right now it's only improving because we want it to, it's a product of our laziness. Comparing humans to ai is like comparing apples to oranges, you can't compare a tool and a conscious creature just because the tool is more sophisticated in tasks that it was designed to do.
I think this doco shows clearly the first most important step to a resolution on the question of theft, plagurism, and copyright is regulation that requires all AI answers to include/reference sources.
This video raises many important questions with many thoughtful backstories to them - such as: 1) The question is not what AI can do, but who it can do it for. I am surprised they didn't go much down the rabbit hole of who are the privileged owners that through [their] dominant AI's weild much power and influence - especially in regards to their power and influence on forming tomorrows world view, and as to where the money/resources go. 2) This becomes that the problem isn’t AI in isolation, but a question of who is controlling the AI data sets and training and what in particular are they. This largely determines the character of the AI and it's alignment with whatever values it is fed. You would therefore expect the AI to reflect the collective character and values of it's masters. So one can see that the AI's that have a monopoly will have a disproportionate influence on the values and morals of tomorrows society. I have watched much content on AI over the last 3 years and this documentary is by far the best.
your channel is top notch. im becoming a patreon. thank you so much for your amazing and astonishing work. keep going for ever. greetings from buenos aires!
'The Greek stoic Seneca ...' (9.28) - Seneca - aka. 'Seneca the Younger' was born in Spain, lived in Rome, and wrote in Latin.
He was a pedophile like all the other postmodernists and he wanted to create a world where that was considered normal. Sadly, the modern Left is close to seeing that come to fruition.
I remember they said madam web would be in Spider-Man so they may have thought spider man in madam web would be odd somehow.

Yeah, i got into it with their team before, especially when i asked chatgpt to help me build my own step by step because that's when I discovered its limitation, so sign up and pay them was the alternative choice!
This is some really fantastic reporting and I'm so happy to have stumbled across this channel! If I had one thing to comment on though, I do wish this video had touched more on the (non-human) resources and inputs that are necessary to make these very early and somewhat unsophisticated models work. This is going off the idea that we continue to build on the foundation created by large language models like chat GPT, but if these models are to become more complex and the models get larger (think GPT-3 to GPT-4) the amount of resources needed to run the systems also increases significantly. GPT-4 already uses massive quantities of water and power in order to function, significantly more than GPT-3 - which already used an uncomfortable amount of water imo. Personally, my thought process is more centered around whether or not these models will reach a level of self sufficiency before the very complex, expensive, and difficult to maintain infrastructure that allows them to exist decays to a point of non-function. Maybe they will get to a point where they can develop their own ways of gathering water, power, etc without a need for human systems/institutions and will just suck the planet dry trying to maintain themselves. But maybe modern society will just collapse in on itself before this can happen. The deeply complicated and fragile modern human processes that have created an environment where a AI system can even be developed and run in the first place will cease to exist. Obviously this is a real doomer way to think about it, but I don't think we take into account enough how resource use can affect the viability of these massive super-computer systems. To many of us software and even hardware can feel very disconnected from real physical resources in a way that something like a chair doesn't. But they do take many physical materials to function, even the internet is really just a bunch of fiber-optic cables along the sea floor transferring data. What's to say the continuation of these social systems is guaranteed?

Why do I have a feeling that the video clips following the narrator script are selected by AI?
This guy gets it.
The sayings of antiguajohn 1-The most a species does is eat, if they don't they die die. The second most important thing a species does is reproduce, if they don't reproduce your species dies. 2-When are young you spread your seed so there will be a future population, when you are old you spread your knowledge so the young, don't have to waste time to reinvent everything all over again and they will also improve on this knowledge and pass it on. Scientia Habet Non Domus, (Knowledge Has No Home) antiguajohn
“Statistically speaking?”. No, practically speaking you have obeyed an illegal and immoral order. You are a murder.
To me AI being pushed forward only because it momentarily solves the problem of R&D financial support by generating short term value through side exploration of untapped potential instead of pushing forward. The main problem is that it is a short term solution, even with reinforccement learning since there is only that many people that can effectively nudge results and if it makes exponential growth, it would require an exponential population growth (and highly educcated portion of it) to sustain it and keep it economically sound through applicable outputs. Corporations being what they are, they won't want to support this level of population and when the actual potential is used up, they will have destroyed the conditions for the next needed efforts in terms of education and population ability to support development. So it is very parrallel with the more down to earth realization about sustainability of growth. You can grow only as much as you can sustain, any excess leads to self destruction and wasted time and effort.

Post Labor Economics: How will the economy work after AGI? Recent though... The future businesses balance with AI and robotics There is a balance between lowering cost of production and maintaining a customer base, who can afford to purchase your products You could lower your cost of production by one of two methods, lower wages and their benefits or in the near future replace workers with artificial intelligence and robots, your employees there is a problem for business because 70% of any country's GDP is consumer spending. In today's economics if consumer spending drops by a few percentage points over two quarters that means your economy goes into a recession or even woorse a depression. So if every company does this that means that employees which are also your customers will not have the money to buy your products and then taken to the extreme, you too will also join the ranks of the poor. So the question is, how do you lower your cost of production while still paying Fair wages for your employees can buy your products? The answer lies in the fact that the number one cause of inflation is the cost of energy and fortunately this metric which has been driving up the cost of living for the last several decades may now have a solution. Apparently Sunshine is cheaper than gasoline or diesel and almost everywhere in the world if solar, wind and storage are combined, with electric transport, the cost of living drops dramatically and increases security since most conflicts around the world have been over access to sources of energy. Very low cost of energy, especially if it's widely distributed in households as well as businesses and transport, will vastly reduce or eliminate conflict to obtain these resources if they are all locally available, could result in a golden age of universal lowering the cost of energy and reducing conflicts. The above is not a bad outcome and would pretend that much safer future for everyone. The problem is, well this would greatly benefit people and businesses, it would interfere with the profits of monopolies such as, oil companies, centrally generated and distributed electricity, an outcome that consumers would appreciate and businesses with a stranglehold on raising prices would not be supportive of. So the question comes in what is more important business profits or the well-being of a country? Now businesses should be allowed to focus on profits for their investors, however this should not be based on taking advantages of citizens. There is a model, with business and consumers can both benefit and the environment as well. Implement a universal basic income or a moncome, or a similar mixed of the two, this would be financed by taxing the robots, shift to a mixed economy, which combines the best of capitalism together with the best of socialism so people enjoy the best of both worlds. With other than the cost of energy basically being free for everybody and full self-driving becoming vastly safer than driving by humans, a fleet of robo taxis with a cost is well below that of current day transportation, the cost of living drops dramatically, people will have a higher quality of life, with more time and less stress business and society can still grow and improve and considering removing most of the reasons for conflict and wars to secure resources will be vastly reduced. In effect several factors make this possible, free or extremely low cost energy, lower cost of living, savings ftom military spending and with artificial intelligence and robots, comes free medical care, free education individually tailored for the student, more time to return to our evolutionary roots of, enjoying family and friends and other activities as well as an incredible reduction in stress leading to disease. The dangerous propaganda and disinformation will make it difficult for the average person to understand what's going on and thus will have the wool pulled over their eyes. Scientia Habet Non Domus, (Knowledge Has No Home) antiguajohn We live in a GMT-4 zone PS. The above is a truncated piece of a larger conversation, I am willing to pass on more and it's intended to increase awareness not to be used as proper glorification for myself, if no one mentions me and it does good I am perfectly happy with that.

Humanity is the product. Notice how none of these companies are actually doing anything to solve the problems that make humanity so dysfunctional... why? It's because they are creating the problems.
We fuss about AI taking jobs away, a dystopian soulless world where the human element is an artifact of history, where each person is nothing but a calculus and a source of extraction and exploitation. Wait a sec, isn't that precisely what capitalism has been doing for 150 plus years? More than anything else, AI is revealing who we are to ourselves.
amazing video! its very informative and it showcases an interesting perspetive on montaignes work. this will really come in handy for my finals:) thank you
